Volunteer Opportunities


The City of Laguna Niguel offers a variety of special events throughout the year during Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter that provide volunteer opportunities for residents of all ages.

 

Spring Volunteer Opportunities

Youth Track Meet - TBA, Spring 2011
Volunteers will help time, measure and register children for the annual track and field meet. Must be 13 years and older and must sign up prior to the event by calling 425-5100.
 

Bunny Blast - TBA, Spring 2011

A fun children's event held at Chapparosa Park. Must be 13 years old. Volunteers will help with crafts, games and line control from 8am-1:30pm. Space is limited. Volunteers must sign up prior to event day by calling 425-5100.
 

Volunteer Connection Day - TBA, Spring 2011
This special day will be dedicated to planting, weeding and cleaning up a portion of the Niguel Botanical Preserve located in the Crown Valley Community Park. Parents must supervise children ages 6-12 years.  Community and corporate groups are encouraged to participate.

 

Summer Volunteer Opportunities

 

Rabbits & Squirrels Day Camp - TBA, Spring 2011

These camps include a variety of recreation activities for 3 - 9 year old children. 

 

Days and Hours:

  • Volunteers must commit to serve for one week.
  • Rabbits (campers ages 3 ½  - 5 years):  Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
  • Squirrels (campers ages 5 ½  - 8 years):  Monday - Friday, 8:30am ­- 4:30pm

Fall Volunteer Opportunities

 

Haunted Trails - October 28, 29 & 30, 2010

For ages 14-adult, volunteer for this wonderful event held at Crown Valley Community Park.  Must be willing to wear creepy clothing, put on make-up, practice safe scare techniques, have the ability to scream loudly and follow directions.  Attendance at the informational meeting, training and all event nights are mandatory. Call the park office at 425-5100 for further information.

Winter Volunteer Opportunities 

 

North Pole Adventure - December 4, 2010

This annual event is held at Sea Country Center and volunteer hours are 9am-2:30pm. Volunteers will help with crafts, games and line control. Space is limited. Volunteers must sign up prior to event day by calling 425-5100.

Holiday Parade - December 11, 2010
Be a part of one of Laguna Niguel's biggest and most treasured events of the year! Volunteers must be 13 years and older and are needed for registration, pacing, staging, etc. Hours vary depending on assignment. For more information, go to www.lagunaniguelparade.com
